How Long Does A Treatment Take?

From beginning to finish the procedure generally requires less than but sometimes up to 1.5 hours in our clinic. The actual injections require <10 minutes.

If you have any of the following indications you are likely a very good candidate:

  • Decreased libido (sex drive)
  • Stress urinary incontinence
  • Urge urinary incontinence
  • Dryness (with resulting painful intercourse) from Menopause or Breast Cancer Treatment
  • Decreased ability to orgasm

What Are The Processes Of The Procedure

The basic procedure is comprised of:

  • Post intake formalities, the process begins with making you comfortable on the procedure table.
  • Your physician will perform a quick visual exam to insure contraindications are not present, such as an infection.
  • A powerful topical local anesthesia in the form of a cream or gel will be applied to the treatment area. this medication generally takes 30 to 45 minutes to obtain the full effect. It only affects the treatment area.
  • While the local anesthesia is taking effect your blood will be drawn. This procedure requires a 50 mL blood draw.
  • While waiting for the local anesthesia to take effect your blood will be processed into HD-PRP. Your HD-PRP will then be transferred into 2 to 3 syringes and fine needles of appropriate length attached.
  • The treatment area will be cleaned of the the topical anesthesia and ice may be applied to the clitoris to provide addition numbing for a small painless injection of lidocaine into the clitoris. This will be allowed to take effect for a few minutes.
  • Depending upon the size of your clitoris, +/- 1 mL of your HD-PRP is painlessly injected into your clitoris.
  • Using the other prepared syringe of your HD-PRP, approximately +/- 3.5 mL of your HD-PRP will be injected into several locations in and near your “G” spot area of your vaginal wall located near the upper anterior which is close to the interotis/opening to vaginal canal.
  • That’s it, you’re done. For the most part, you can resume your normal activities.

Should I Do Anything Prior to Treatment?

Yes.

  • During the day prior to treatment it is important to well hydrate by drinking plenty of fluids. This helps in making the blood draw easier and provides for less discomfort. Drinking of fluids just prior to the procedure will has little, but frequently no effect on the immediate hydration of your blood.
  • Be sure to arrive at the clinic with well cleaned treatment area. There should be zero treatment or grooming products in in the vaginal and vulva areas.
  • Follow pre procedure instructions of your providing physician you receive during you initial consultation. If you have elected to receive comprehensive Women’s Health or comprehensive Women’s Sexual Health services, make sure to have all your labs completed so they can be reviewed during the same visit (time permitting).

Is There Post Treatment Care?

Your physician will provide individualized comprehensive instruction on do’s and don’ts post treatment.

The general basic instructions include:

  • Refraining fro intercourse for three day so as to keep your HD-PRP in place to provide maximum benefit.
  • No strenuous activities that may involve the pelvic area for 24 hours.
  • Avoid application or use of vaginal hormones or other products in the treatment area for 24 hours.
  • Continue taking supplements recommended during your initial consultation. These will aid in the regenerative processes by fueling and stimulating your stem cells to enhance your outcome.
  • Avoid medications that interrupt stem cell activity such as NSAID like Ibuprofen.
  • Should discomfort occur, mild over the counter analgesics such as Tylenol or aspirin should be enough to control the vast majority of discomfort. If some discomfort does occur it is generally soreness from the injections that usually resolve within 24 hours. Should minor discomfort not resolve within 72 hours, contact your treating physician.
  • In the rare event you experience discomfort not controlled by over the counter medications, contact your treating physician immediately.
  • Your physician may prescribe a few days of antibiotics as a precautionary prophylactic. Take as directed.
  • Your physician will provide additional personalize instruction if indicated.

Will Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) and Metabolic Balancing Improve Results?

In most cases, Yes. Hormonal and Metabolic balance plays a significant role in not only the overall health and wellbeing, in our feminine and sexual health as well. Unbalanced hormones are frequently associated with the root cause the issue you sought treatment for in the first place.

In cases where hormonal and metabolic imbalance is a contributing factor, it is always best to resolve these issues. Not doing so may degrade your outcome or shorten the life of your treatment and thus require maintenance treatments sooner than would otherwise be the case.

When your hormones and metabolites are playing a role with your condition, it is most often NOT a reason to go ahead with your O-Shot procedure. The O-Shot will expedite the healing and regeneration while BHRT and metabolic therapy will begin and soon stop the condition from reoccurring. To wait for the O-Shot while the root issues resolve may take some time. During that time more degradation may occur.

It is always better and easier to correct issues as soon as possible before they worsen. When indicated, The O-Shot and BHRT work very well together toward the soonest and most beneficial outcome.

Is There Any Down Time?

We generally ask patients to refrain from strenuous activities for 24 hours post procedure. Otherwise, there is no downtime associate with the procedure.

We do recommend taking the rest of the day off, go home and relax until the following day. This will promote the HD-PRP to remain in place and not migrate out of the treatment area. Thus providing you a component of the most optimised benefit.

Is The Procedure Painful?

Because we employ a number of methods to numb the treatment areas the procedure is largely pain free. Mild discomfort or sensation of pressure during the injections may occur.

How Long Before I Realize Results?

Results vary, are very individualized and dependent upon many factors such as, but not limited to:

  • State of hormonal and metabolic balance,
  • Social habits such as smoking and drinking,

  • Following post care instructions,
  • Any biologics elected to be added to the procedure,
  • Severity of condition.

The optimum period of time you may begin to see results is in two – three weeks. It is not uncommon for results to be realized as far out as two to four months.

Adding biologics and or BHRT or metabolic support services most often significantly enhance results.
